Dates are the published 2027 edition, the 54th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, June 17-20, 2027. Confirmed three separate ways on the festival's own site: the Telluride home page ('Mark your calendars for the 54th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival: June 17-20, 2027!'), the Ticketing Guide header ('June 17-20, 2027 - Telluride, Colorado'), and the FAQ, which also publishes June 15-18, 2028 for the year after. Caveat for the operator refreshing this record: every individual campground page still shows 2026 open and close dates (for example Town Park 'Opens: Saturday, June 13, 2026... Closes: Monday, June 22, 2026 at noon') and the Ticketing Guide prices are explicitly last year's: 'Below are this year's prices for reference. Prices are subject to change for 2027.'

The drop date is not published yet. We are watching for it.

Two separate gates, and travelers routinely miss the second one. GATE ONE, getting the pass. Camping is sold online through the Planet Bluegrass store at shop.bluegrass.com, and every Tickets button across the festival site points at a virtual waiting room, https://wl.seetickets.us/planetbluegrass (now redirecting to wl.eventim.us/planetbluegrass), which is the signature of a single announced on-sale with a queue rather than rolling availability. Planet Bluegrass runs a dated 'On-Sale Info' announcement page for each cycle; as of 2026-07-27 that page still carries the 2026 cycle and the 2027 on-sale date and time have NOT been published, so no on-sale datetime is recorded here. Two pricing tiers exist, a standard price and a lower 'Pre-Solstice' price (for example a 4-Day Festival Pass at $420, or $405 Pre-Solstice), so the earlier window is materially cheaper. Camping is sold PER PERSON, not per site: every person 13 or older needs their own camping pass, and a vehicle pass is a separate purchase on top. The one exception: 'Lawson Hill RV passes and Upper Lawson Vehicle passes do not require additional camping passes per person, provided that all campers fit in the credentialed RV/vehicle and each person has a 4-day pass.' Vehicle and RV passes are explicitly capped, described as 'a limited number' at Town Park and Mary E Ilium and 'an extremely limited number of RV passes' at Lawson Hill, which is the scarcest item in the whole system. GATE TWO, getting a good spot once you own the pass. Where you actually land inside Town Park is decided by a random lottery on the morning the campground opens, not by arrival order and not by seniority: park legally in town, walk in carrying only a tarp, join the line between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on opening Saturday, show your Town Park wristband or ticket confirmation to receive a lottery ticket, then claim your space and request a temporary vehicle pass from the camp host to bring your rig in. Zone 1 runs its own earlier lottery, line 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. the same day. The lottery is skippable only 'if you're arriving after the campground opens' or 'you're not picky about your spot'. The same lottery rules apply to vehicles and tent campers alike. Lawson Hill and Upper Lawson are different again: spaces there are assigned by the campground supervisor first come, first served by arrival time, with no location preferences considered. Zone 1 add-on tickets are offered by email in the spring to Town Park camping ticket holders only, limited and first come first served. Note the dates printed in the lottery instructions are still 2026; confirm the 2027 opening day before relying on them.

Hookups
dry, at every single campground. There are no water, sewer or electrical hookups anywhere on this festival's inventory, and this is the field most likely to surprise a rig owner paying $460 for a spot. The Upper Lawson vehicle campground page says it outright: 'Potable water (fill jugs), porta potties, cash showers (no water, sewer, or electrical hookups for vehicles).' The other campgrounds list facilities with no hookups mentioned at all: Town Park and Warner Field have potable water, porta potties, permanent bathrooms and token showers; Mary E Ilium has potable water, porta potties and showers run by Gridless Operations with tokens bought from the camp host at check-in; Lawson Hill has potable water, porta potties and cash showers. Lawson Hill Glamping states 'No electricity, but device charging is available with the campground hosts.' Compounding it: generators are effectively banned (see rig_limits), so a dry spot means battery or nothing.Premium price, no services. Plan fresh water, generator hours and a pump-out.

Rig limits
Hard length caps, different per campground, all measured bumper to bumper. Town Park: 24 feet max. Mary E Ilium: 22 feet max. Lawson Hill RV: 28 feet max (the longest rig this festival will take anywhere). Upper Lawson Vehicle: 20 feet max. Warner Field: no vehicles or RVs at all, tent camping only on a baseball field. Town Park Zone 1 is tent only, no vehicles even with a vehicle pass. Definition of a vehicle is broad: 'Whether it be a 28-foot RV, a rooftop tent on your car, or a motorcycle, anything with a license plate is considered a vehicle and needs a separate pass.' Tow rigs: 'If you intend to have both your camper/trailer/RV and your tow vehicle in the campground, then you must purchase two vehicle passes or a vehicle pass and an RV pass', though free off-site parking exists for tow vehicles and at Upper Lawson 'If you have a trailer, you will be required to land your trailer and park your tow vehicle separately.' Vehicle pass holders are asked to leave the vehicle in place for the whole stay. GENERATORS: 'Festival camping is very high density, and it is almost impossible to safely use generators without them being too close to your neighbors' tents. Please be respectful of your fellow campers and leave those generators at home. If you need to use medical devices overnight, we request that you utilize battery packs.' Also: no pets of any kind anywhere, no wood fires including Solo Stoves (propane fire pits allowed if attended), no drones, no e-bikes ridden in campgrounds, no sleeping tents in the vehicle campgrounds, no glass at Warner Field, tent stakes over 6 inches prohibited at Warner Field and Lawson Hill, metal pans required under stoves. Sleeping in cars is prohibited in the Town of Telluride outside these campgrounds. All campgrounds close at noon the Monday after the festival, no exceptions.
Eligibility
Open to the public, no membership, club or renewal gate. The practical constraints are inventory and timing, not membership: vehicle and RV passes are capped at every campground, Town Park is dominated by long-standing multi-decade camps, and the Zone 1 add-on is offered only to existing Town Park camping ticket holders. Children 12 and under are free for both festival and camping when accompanied by a ticketed adult; everyone 13 and over needs their own pass.
Worth knowing
PRICE DETAIL, all from the official Ticketing Guide and all labeled by the festival as last year's figures subject to change for 2027, so treat as indicative. Camping passes (each includes a 4-day festival pass unless noted): Town Park Camping $600 ($585 Pre-Solstice); Warner Field Camping $600 ($585 Pre-Solstice); Mary E Ilium Camping $515 ($500 Pre-Solstice); Lawson Hill Camping $100 per person, festival pass sold separately. Vehicle and RV passes, purchased on top: Town Park Vehicle $340 (24 ft max); Mary E Ilium Vehicle $165 (22 ft max); Lawson Hill RV $475 (28 ft max); Upper Lawson Vehicle $460 (20 ft max). Lawson Hill Glamping is a furnished bell-tent product with 2 or 4 person options, bundled with or without 4-day passes, and its price is not listed on the Ticketing Guide. price_low 100 and price_high 600 therefore cover the camping-pass products only; the RV or vehicle pass is an additional $165 to $475 per event on top, which is why a rig owner's true out-of-pocket at Town Park is roughly $600 per person plus $340 for the vehicle. onsale_datetime is deliberately ABSENT because no 2027 on-sale date or time is published on any official page as of 2026-07-27; do not fill it from a third party. WHY THIS EVENT IS THE CLASSIC PREMIUM-DRY CASE: Upper Lawson charges $460 for a 20-foot-max space in a paved parking lot with no hookups of any kind and no room for a tent or awning at the site, and generators are asked to stay home. Buyers expecting shore power will be wrong. ACCESS AND LOGISTICS worth surfacing to a traveler: Town Park and Warner Field are walking distance to the stage; Mary E Ilium is 7.7 miles out on County Road 63L with plentiful shade and poor cell service; Lawson Hill and Upper Lawson are 4 miles out off Greenfields Lane. Free shuttles run Wednesday through Sunday 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. and Monday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. You cannot drive into or park on Telluride's streets from the Wednesday before through Sunday without a barricade pass, local plates or a handicap sticker; Town Park vehicle pass holders get a 3-hour temporary barricade pass. Quiet hours: none enforced at Town Park or Warner Field, 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. at Mary E Ilium, Lawson Hill and Upper Lawson. Credentials are not needed to load into campgrounds.
