No 2027 dates are published on buffalochip.com as of 2026-07-27.

There is no on-sale moment, no lottery, no waitlist and no returning-camper renewal. RV sites are sold continuously through the Chip's ticketing platform Tixr (group sturgisbuffalochip) or by phone at 605-347-9000, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Mon-Thurs and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mountain Friday, with 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain fall, winter and spring hours. Pricing is dynamic and only moves up: the page states "Prices are at the lowest they'll be all year, and they will increase at any time, so get yours now!" Buying earlier is strictly cheaper. Two different things are called a reservation here and the difference matters. In the dry areas and several powered general-admission areas there are "No assigned sites, first come, first served" and "To camp next to your buddy, you must arrive together", so you buy the right to a spot in that area and then race for position on arrival. In Stage Hill, Crazy Horse and VIP Fenske Park, "Sites assigned at time of sale", so buying early also determines which pad you get. Fenske Park VIP is the only full-hookup area and the page says "Space is very limited". Hard gates: an RV site purchase "Must be accompanied by at least one (1) rally pass purchase", every person accessing the site needs their own Admission Pass, and everything is "Non-Refundable (no exceptions)" from the moment of purchase. South Dakota sales tax plus processing and ticketing fees are added on top.

- mixed, and a large share of the inventory is genuinely dry. Four tiers, verbatim from the official RV page. (1) DRY RV, "No Electric. No H20 Hookup", in Alkali Road, Bear Butte and 132nd Avenue; potable water is nearby and there is an on-site water fill service, but these sites have no hookups at all. (2) 30 Amp with water, in Stage Hill RV Park, Crazy Horse, Water Tower, Quarter Lane, Progressive South 40, South ADA and North ADA. (3) 30/50 Amp with water, in Stage Hill, Water Tower, Helo Court and Progressive South 40. (4) 50 Amp only with water, in Beach View, Blue Sky, Alkali Road Power/Water, Deep Lake, Crazy Horse, Progressive South 40, Water Tower, Quarter Lane and both ADA areas; the page warns "Outlets are 50 amp cord, so bring an adaptor if your vehicle runs 30 amp". SEWER exists in exactly one place: VIP Fenske Park, 30/50 Amp with water AND sewer. Everywhere else is water and power at best, so plan on holding tanks.Premium price, no services. Plan fresh water, generator hours and a pump-out.

- Rig limits
- Dry RV sites (Alkali Road, Bear Butte, 132nd) are 25 ft wide by 50 ft long. Powered 30 Amp sites such as Stage Hill and Crazy Horse are 20 ft wide by varying length "not exceeding 40'", which will not take a big Class A plus a tow. 30/50 Amp areas run 20 to 25 ft wide by up to 80 ft long with some pull-throughs. VIP Fenske Park sites are 20 ft wide by 50 ft long, on grass with no gravel or pavement, and the Chip asks you to "provide camper dimensions at the time of reservation so that we may make a good choice for your site". Only one camping unit per site; motorcycles plus one 4-wheeled vehicle may be inside the site and any additional 4-wheeled vehicle must go to a designated parking lot. Surface warning from the page: "RV spaces may not be leveled or paved. Roads may be chipped asphalt, gravel or trails in the prairie or alfalfa." No generator policy and no rig age policy is stated on the official page.

- No membership or club gate, anyone can buy. But an RV site cannot be bought alone: it must be accompanied by at least one rally Admission Pass purchase, and each person who will access the site needs an Admission Pass. RV space purchases do not include campground admission.
- Worth knowing
- FIELDS DELIBERATELY OMITTED AS NULL: price_low, price_high, onsale_datetime. Confidence is "partial" for one reason only, PRICE. The Buffalo Chip publishes no dollar figures on its own site; every RV area shows a "Check Current Pricing" button that hands off to Tixr, and Tixr blocked automated reads, so no price is given rather than a guess. What IS confirmed from the official page is the price UNIT, which is the part travelers get wrong: "RV sites are priced as a one-time fee no matter how many days you choose to stay." It is per event, not per night, and it excludes the mandatory per-person Admission Pass, SD sales tax, and processing and ticketing fees. Everything else in this record (hookups, site dimensions, assignment rules, non-refundability, reservation phone hours, 2026 pass windows) is verbatim from buffalochip.com and is verified. The two official purchase buttons resolve to Tixr: general-admission RV to tixr.com/groups/sturgisbuffalochip/events/sturgis-buffalo-chip-2026-148494 with COL=5296, assigned RV with COL=6362. Payment accepted: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, AmEx. ADA note worth surfacing: there are dedicated North ADA and South ADA powered RV areas. The Chip also sells cabins, RV rentals and a full-service Concierge Camping product, which are separate from these RV sites. lat/lon are an approximate campground centroid off the Fort Meade Way address and were not taken from an official page, so treat the pin as approximate.
