EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
Wittman Regional Airport / Camp Scholler, EAA Aviation Center, 3000 Poberezny Road · Oshkosh, WI · Jul 26 to Aug 1, 2027
Dates given are the 2027 edition, July 26 to August 1, 2027, published verbatim in the 'AirVenture Dates' block in the footer of eaa.org/airventure (which also lists 2028: July 24-30 and 2029: July 23-29). IMPORTANT: every camping detail page on eaa.org still reflects the 2026 edition (July 20-26, 2026), which concluded July 26, 2026. All prices, on-sale dates and registration hours below are the confirmed 2026 figures. EAA has not yet published 2027 camping rates or the 2027 improved-site release date.
The drop date is not published yet. We are watching for it.
Two different mechanisms, and the distinction matters. BASIC (unimproved) sites: buy online any time at EAA.org/Tickets, no assigned spot. Official rule text: 'All campsites are reserved on a first-paid, first-served basis' and 'Basic sites are not pre-marked or assigned. Once credentials are issued, members may locate and stake out an unoccupied spot in the campground.' You may not stake out a site before your paid arrival date. IMPROVED (electric and water) sites: a genuinely limited, assigned, timed release. Official text: 'A limited number of sites with water and electrical hook-ups are available at a higher daily rate than regular campsites, on a first-paid, first-served basis' and 'improved sites are not available to book until Friday, June 26, 2026 at 7 a.m.' Improved sites were marked SOLD OUT on the 2026 ticket page. There is no phone reservation ('Campsites cannot be reserved or purchased over the phone'), no transfers ('Camping credentials and campsites may not be transferred or sold from one individual to another individual'), and no holding a site without payment. Camp Scholler opens the last Friday in June, so the campground is live roughly a month before the show and pre-show arrivals pay from the day they secure the site. Opening day has a physical line-number system: numbers are handed out at Camper Registration on pre-opening day, you must be physically present, one number per person, no placeholders, no chairs or unattended items to hold a spot. 2027 on-sale timing for improved sites is NOT yet published.
Official camping page- How you get in
- First come
- Hookups
- mixed, and mostly dry. The overwhelming majority of Camp Scholler is BASIC/unimproved, meaning no hookups at all: 'Campers in basic sites are prohibited from plugging into, or accessing electricity from, any EAA building, facility, power pedestal or other source to run power to a campsite.' Only a limited number of IMPROVED sites have water and electric: 'Each water and electric campsite is serviced by one (1) power pedestal.' Amperage is not stated anywhere on the official pages. Shared amenities in the campground include shower facilities, an RV pumping station and portable pumping services, two grocery stores, and free public Wi-Fi hotspots. Note that showers and portable toilets 'will be opened as demand dictates,' not on preset dates.Premium price, no services. Plan fresh water, generator hours and a pump-out.
- Price
- $42 to $103 per night
- Rig limits
- No maximum RV length is published. The campground is described as accepting 'tents and vehicles of all sizes (including large RVs).' Basic campsite is approximately 20 feet by 30 feet per the ticket page. Sizing rule: members 'must size basic sites to accommodate the member's camping unit and one (1) transient vehicle (or two (2) motorcycles) with a five-foot (5') perimeter. Camping units must be at least ten feet (10') apart.' Oversized sites get resized by EAA Security. Maximum six people overnight per campsite regardless of age. If anyone under 18 stays at the site, the registering member must also be present overnight 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. GENERATORS: 'Except for in specifically designated 24-hour generator use areas, no generators may be operated between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.' In 24-hour generator areas all camping units must be perpendicular to fire lanes and no tents or sleeping on the ground are permitted. All units and vehicles must sit behind marked fire lanes. Running an extension cord or power line across any road or fire lane is prohibited.
- Eligibility
- EAA membership required. Official text: 'Only EAA members are permitted to purchase a campsite in Camp Scholler. Each EAA member may purchase only one (1) campsite.' At least one person staying at each campsite, basic or water/electric, must be an EAA member. The purchasing member must be at least 18 and must be present at Camper Registration at check-in to receive credentials, and must be part of the camping party for the entire stay. Memberships can be bought at the Camper Registration building. Nonmember price for both basic and improved sites is listed as 'N/A'. A nonmember weekend package exists that bundles a basic annual EAA membership with three nights of camping.
- Worth knowing
- onsale_datetime intentionally omitted: EAA has published no 2027 camping on-sale moment. The 2026 improved-site release was stated as 'Friday, June 26, 2026 at 7 a.m.' with no timezone given in the live text, so no ISO datetime is asserted. 2026 confirmed rates from eaa.org/airventure/EAA-AirVenture-Tickets: Basic Site member price $42 per day; Improved Site (Electric & Water) member price $103 per day, shown SOLD OUT. Nonmember price N/A for both. General AIRCRAFT camping (camp under your own wing, separate from Camp Scholler) is $42 per day, no preregistration, first-come first-served, three-night minimum. Three-night minimum applies throughout. REFUND ASYMMETRY worth surfacing to a traveler: basic sites can refund unused days on early departure less the three-day minimum, but 'There are no refunds on any unused days for water and electric sites.' Campers pay from the day they secure the site through the Monday after AirVenture, so an early booking on an improved site accrues daily charges from the reservation date, not the arrival date. 2026 registration hours (pattern only, not 2027): Camper Registration Fri 6/26 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat 6/27-Sun 7/12 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Mon 7/13-Sat 7/25 6 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun 7/26 6 a.m.-12 p.m. Express Arrival (barcode scan entry via the Gray Lot) ran Wed 7/15 through Sun 7/19 only. Designated camping areas exist for guests with disabilities and for 24-hour generator use. Lat/lon is an approximate campground centroid and was NOT taken from an official page; EAA publishes a street address (3000 Poberezny Road, Oshkosh, WI 54902) and a Camp Scholler map PDF but no coordinates. Basic camping price is only exposed inside the ticket page module, not on the Camp Scholler page itself.
